Epiphany

The twelfth and final night of Christmas is January 5th.  January 6th we celebrate the coming of the wisemen with Epiphany.  Magi long ago saw and followed a sign in the sky that led them to the Christ child.  We too encounter signs of God’s presence and discern what they mean for us.  This not only helps us to discern our path forward but also to make meaning of past events.  As Christmas comes to a close take some time to reflect on the places and events that had special meaning to you.  What new practice or tradition will be meaningful to carry forward?  What would you like to do differently next year?  You may even want to write a letter to your future self and pack it away with your Christmas decorations.  Record the highlights of this past holiday season and what you would like to see in the next one.  May God continue to guide us all in this next season and bring even more light into our lives.
