We are sorry to say the Eleanor Hetrick has retired from her position as bookkeeper. We are happy that she is still able to volunteer to help out as she can. Rockville Christiam Church thanks you for the service you have provided to the church and wish you the best in your retirement.
Elizabeth Graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001 with a Bachelors of Social work. After serving the Fairfax County Office for Children and the Fairfax County School system she got her Master’s of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2011. This was followed by her Ordination at First Christian, Falls Church in July of 2011.
Elizabeth completed a two year Practice of Ministry and Mission with United college Ministries in Northern Virginia as a college chaplain at George Mason University. Upon its completion she served as interim Campus Minister as they searched for a new Director for their programs. Having a passion for spiritual direction Elizabeth also serves on the spiritual care committee for the Director of Spiritual Care at George Washington University Hospital as they seek to establish a Clinical Pastoral education program.
Elizabeth has also spent six months serving as the Young Adult and Youth minister at First Christian Church in Falls Church Virginia. This was an intentional bridge position as they prepared to accept a two year resident from the Congregational Immersion program of Vanderbilt Divinity. She then served two years as assistant minister at Aspen Hill Christian Church.
Elizabeth is also wife of Gary Baird and the proud mother of a three year old daughter, Rachel. Elizabeth grew up in Northern Virginia and has been involved in the Capital Area’s camp and conference program since she was a pioneer camper. She is the director of Discovery camp which introduces preschoolers and their families to camp Mary Mac.
Elizabeth greatly enjoys cooking and being out in nature. Gary, Rachel and Elizabeth spend a lot of their time at the pond and on hiking trails near their home and almost every vacation in Shenandoah National park. Elizabeth is also an avid reader and loves to learn new skills. She and her sister often gift each other by taking a class together rather than buying presents. Some of her favorites include water aerobics, yoga prayer, and Viking wire knitting.
Sarah Osborne and her family have been members of the church for four years. We are please that she was able to accept the position of office manager.
